On Wednesday, 7th May 2014, SCG visited TANNER Vietnam. This visit was part of a series of activities led by GetGreen Vietnam – a project promoting sustainable consumption in Vietnam, focusing on sustainable living and working of middle-income consumers in urban areas.

SCG was very excited to implement Green activities in daily life. Therefore, TANNER Vietnam’s experience in making our workplace more environmentally friendly and changing staff’s habits for a big impact on climate change for 4 years is really valuable. “We acquired a lot of practical experiences from TANNER Vietnam. We learned that small and simple actions with specific results can motivate employees and maintain Green activities,” Ms. Tran Thi My Yen – Country Manager of SCG said.
Established in 2004, TANNER Vietnam has consistently committed to energy savings and contributed to a greener environment. TANNER Vietnam has successfully implemented an accredited environmental management plan in the workplace. The company was awarded the Green Office certificate by the World Wide Fund for Nature, Vietnam (WWF Vietnam) in August 2010 as the 1st German corporation and the 8th corporation in Vietnam to earn this certificate. In 2010, Saigon Times awarded TANNER Vietnam with the “Saigon Times Top 40 – Green Value”. In 2013, TANNER Vietnam won “The Green Environment for the Country” award for achievements in environment protection and sustainable development of the community. The award was presented by the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment.
SCG’s visit was a great opportunity for TANNER Vietnam to share our experiences and knowledge in environment protection and climate change adaptation. We hope that SCG will succeed in implementing Green activities in order to contribute to “SCG Eco Value” – to ensure products and services that have the least negative impact on the environment and better quality than other companies offer.
