On July 2013, TANNER Vietnam launched a new version of Personal Income Tax Calculation App (PIT app), which applies the latest changes of the PIT laws effective from 1 July 2013 and allows users to update the “Reduction for taxpayer” in Settings.
To support employees and employers in Vietnam to calculate their Personal Income Tax, Net and Gross Income, the PIT App is available for free download at:

Similar to the previous version of the app, the updated version includes various functions:
- Calculate Personal Income Tax from Net Salary or Gross Salary
- Convert Gross salary to Net Salary
- Convert Net salary to Gross Salary
- Calculate Net Salary with regard to Social Insurance, Health Insurance, Unemployment Insurance, Dependents, Bonus, Allowance and Personal Income Tax according to Vietnamese Labor Law.
- Allow users to update the “Reduction for taxpayer” in Settings (new in iOS)
This PIT App is applicable to all taxpayers, both Vietnamese and foreigners with residency in Vietnam according to the Vietnamese Personal Income Tax Law.
The app calculates PIT for business income and salary income but does not include other incomes such as income from capital investment or capital transfer.
By using the PIT app, users will enjoy the following advantages:
- User-friendly graphic of user interface
- An overall picture of your income (with a detailed breakdown of PIT contribution and other insurances)
- A pro-active tool to negotiate salary at an interview; semi-annual or annual performance reviews
- An effective tool for employers to have a quick reaction to any number of net income or gross income that employees request
- A double check between net income and tax contributions as per Vietnamese Labor Law requirements
- Additional support while finalizing your annual PIT declaration
